One of the things which i suppose i miss or did not actually like about it, was the laughter. Without this (sometimes real some times fake) laughter, it makes it seem way to serious. I understand that no public members would have seen this before last night, but even fake laughter would have sufficed. - Jon

I think that review's a bit harsh, particularly as she's effectively reviewing act one of a "movie". She's right to criticize the poor script and lack of laughs, but everything else was pretty good, I thought. Part 2 and 3 could be hilarious, now the exposition's dealt with.

I'd rather they just stop, after 2 dismal series. It's not the same show without Rob Grant involved, and the fact these specials don't even feature TWO cast members present in Series VII is ridiculous. What, did Norman Lovett have something *better* to do? What about Hattie Haydridge?

Chloe Annett ain't in the specials I'm afraid, neither is Norman Lovett so no Holly... also, they say it's "Back to Earth" but something will go wrong once they're back on the planet.

Plus Rob [aka Kryten] has already said there is talk of more Dwarf after these specials on his YouTube channel. So I wouldn't be looking at these as a "fitting end", more like a shows rebirth... which is fan-smegging-tastic!!!

Wow, I never thought I'd see a new Red Dwarf being made - even if it is just a special. I gave up on the series at Season 6; when Rob Grant left the show, the writing just got stupid and lazy.

And, yes, those 1998 remastered seasons are almost ruined.
