It's probably just something the programme knocked up itself. I guessed they missed a marketing opportunity by not releasing some for Christmas, evidently -- Snappy could have been this year's Buzz Lightyear :)

Re: PSYCHOVILLE 1.5

does anyone know where i can get my hands on a snappy toy im on a christmas mission

Re: PSYCHOVILLE 1.5

Why do people continue to think I don't like Psychoville? Ep 1 and 2 got a FOUR-star review from me, and ep5 got a very rare FIVE-stars. I do like it. A LOT. But I only love particular moments and don't feel the stories are really hanging together that well. Maybe it should have been a four-part special, as so much is just in orbit. Only Mr. Jelly seems to actually care about the blackmailer, and only Joy's storyline is actually developing in a nice way. Lomax and the Sowerbutts are stretching their storylines, and Jason's story may as well not exist now. I'm hopeful ep6 and 7 will pull it together, but I definitely feel Psychoville should have been half as long.

As for the serial-killer song: maybe it'll grow on me. I'm not one for comedy songs in general, so maybe that's half the reason it didn't delight me. A shame it was confined to a darkened corridor, if you ask me. The chance was there for something far more imaginative and better choreographed.

Re: PSYCHOVILLE 1.5

Oh Dan, Dan, Dan. The song was brilliant. Did you listen to the lyrics? They were brilliant. And how as it failed if YOU can't hum it now. I can. I loved it - it was like Danny Elfman meets Divine Comedy. The whole episode was incredibly packed with stunning ideas, images and revelations. You seem to be focussing only on the bigger picture - when the devil is in the detail. Yes this is a mystery - but there are five concurrent stories being told as well. I suppose the point of you even having this blog is to say what you think - and thats fine - but I wish you'd recognise really great - surprising telly when it comes along - because there aint that much of it. I suppose its a compliment to the programme that because its SO good - you just want it to be even better. But you talk like it fails - in the same way as an episode of "Horne and Cordon". I think, but Im not sure, that you recognise that is is in a different league to most television shows. And I don't mean just comedy. All your "reviews" might change when you see the piece as a whole. Its very different from looking at each one in isolation. Any way - it'll all be over soon. And its back to "outnumbered" and "the kevin bishop show". Urgh.

Re: PSYCHOVILLE 1.5

Go on, then - sing the song! Sing it! See? You've forgotten it :-) I didn't dislike this episode, but the show isn't living up to first two eps, imo (although ep4 was self-contained genius.) The Freddie scenes were more laughable than scary, I thought, once you saw the doll.

Re: PSYCHOVILLE 1.5

I have to agree that the panto storyline isn't really grabbing me, but I thought episode 5 was excellent, and I disagree that the song was forgettable (but then I'm a huge fan of Joby's music so maybe I'm biased!) I loved Jelly and Jolly's story too - the sight gags were fantastic with Jolly's car and the repair man and I'm really liking their dynamic. Star of the episode goes to Freddie Fruitcake - I had to turn all my lights on after watching that!
